Major Russian Attacks Disrupt Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a distinct Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Moscow has intensified attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing defensive weapons and applying restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen missiles attacked energy facilities, describing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by city authorities.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The attacks follow periods of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were preparing for additional strikes.
